It wasn't until half an hour from our destination that it started to rain so the driver put the windows up and put the air con on. Note for future always ask if there is air con. We boarded the Arayil houseboat and was blown away, we had 3 servants and the bedroom, lounge, dining room were all immaculate. We arrived in alleppey 9pm the next morning to emabark on our first Indian Railway Experience. Over night on the boat was excellent although we had to dive for the room about 9:30pm as all the bugs tried to attack us. Massive cockroach in the bathroom, had Laurie freaking.
